Heart Avenue Association is proud to officially announce the launch of its new academic and psychosocial initiative in Peru: the Club de Investigación e Innovación en Salud (CIIS). Developed as part of our permanent commitment to youth leadership and educational advancement, this project represents a unique alliance designed to nurture scientific thinking at the high school level.
The program is being deployed exclusively at Innova Schools (Sede Lemos), tailoring advanced research methodologies for selected 4th and 5th-grade secondary students.
Bridging Science and Grassroots Social Impact
The core objective of the CIIS framework is to provide high school students with a structured, academic space to study critical contemporary disciplines, including mental health & neuroscience. Rather than keeping science confined to theoretical textbooks, the program is engineered to address real-world community dynamics through scientific evidence.
The club is led directly by our on-site School Ambassador, Angie Carolina Asto Mendez, with full methodological and structural backing from Heart Avenue’s Central Board.

A Rigorous 16-Week Academic Roadmap
To guarantee maximum academic quality and individual mentorship, the program has instituted an ultra-selective enrollment policy, selecting an elite cohort of only 10 student researchers for this initial run. Over the course of 16 weeks, these students will progress through a hybrid curriculum composed of four distinct operational phases:

Phase 1: Diagnosis & Situational Surveys: Mapping specific mental health and medical welfare priorities directly within the local student environment.

Phase 2: Open-Access Literature Analysis: Diving into international databases, peer-reviewed articles, and clinical neuro-pediatric papers to construct a solid theoretical thesis.

Phase 3: Fieldwork & Data Collection: Stepping out into the field by attending Heart Avenue’s community intervention drives to record and evaluate early childhood development data in real-world scenarios.

Phase 4: Scientific Publication & Press Release: Translating field data and research findings into formal academic manuscripts. These articles will be edited, designed, and officially published within the association’s Magazines.
